Validation & Accuracy
Below we explain how you can have confidence in the results that are provided when using the HEMO+ home test service. Our service uses fully certified and acredited labs and providing the instructions are followed and the sample size is large enough the results will be the same as a regular blood test.
How do I know my results are accurate?
HEMO+ partners with carefully selected testing laboratories to conduct the tests on the samples you provide through the HEMO+.
The laboratories are fully certified to the latest standards and go through regular assessments and validations to maintain their certifications. They are also fully compliant with the regulations set out by the DHA and must comply to strict operational standards. Provding you follow the instructions and provide a large enough sample the results will be as accurate as in a hospital or clinic.
Finger Prick vs Venepuncture
The HEMO+ kits will often use a finger lancet to pick the finger to collect blood. Our instructions follow the World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines for finger pick blood collection. And providing that you collect enough blood into the tubes provided and correctly follow the instructions you can be confident that the results will be accurate. Numerous tests have been conducted world wide to verify the accuracy of finger prick tests vs Venepuncture, and our tests with the laboratory further validated and supported these findings.
The HEMO+ Collection Process
The HEMO+ kit does not collect as much blood as traditional venepuncture. This is correct, however most blood from venepuncture is discarded as it is not required. Plus all of our tests have been validated against the laboratories own equipment and can give an accurate result based on the required sample size. Providing you follow the HEMO+ instructions and provide a large enough sample your results will be accurate.
Non-blood sample tests
HEMO+ offers a number of tests that do not require a blood sample such as Urine or DNA. These tests have different instructions, but the accuracy is no different to completing the test in a medical clinic or hospital.
For the majority of tests HEMO+ provides you can expect the results in less than 72 hours. There are some exceptions such as the Imu Pro food allergy test which can be upto 2 weeks, and the DNA tests which can take 3 weeks due to the type of analysis required. These are guides and we will make efforts to send the reuslts in the shortest possible time.
